Each cabinet is made to your exact specification, handcrafted from raw materials into the beautiful finished article. This means we are able to ensure your kitchen is truly personal to you and is built to fit your space perfectly.
All our drawer boxes are solid oak, made with traditional dovetail joints and our frontals are properly jointed mortise and tenoned five piece doors. We are very proud of our doors, which are a very sturdy 28mm, you can certainly feel the quality. For the stiles and rails we use tulipwood, a lovely stable wood with a subtle finish, which means it is excellent for painting.
Our carcasses are made using a real oak veneer which can then be varnished or oiled. They are screwed and glued together which creates one of the strongest joins. In some cases festool domino floating tenons might be used for added peace of mind when it comes to appliance housings. You could choose to paint them but we would always recommend you keep the true colour and finish to embrace the natural beauty of the product.
Our construction methods involve making a separate face frame for the majority of our cabinets, which is then fixed to the carcass, giving a true, traditional in-frame look. The face frame is 22mm and made from Tulip Hardwood. Constructed with a hidden dovetail joint for stability, it is pinned and glued to the carcass, then finished so there are no visible fixings or marks.
The finished cabinetry would then be primed and painted by hand in the colour of your choice.
There are lots of benefits in opting for a hand-painted finish in your new kitchen. Unlike other finishes, should the paintwork be damaged over the years, hand-painted furniture is forgiving, and allows for problem areas to be touched up easily.
By choosing a hand-painted finish you can ensure your kitchen is truly unique. You can have whatever colour scheme you desire to reflect your personality. The added bonus here is, should you want to change the look of your kitchen in the future as colour trends change, you can have your kitchen re-painted in a completely different colour and also change the handles to completely transform its look. This is certainly more cost effective than replacing the kitchen and makes a hand-painted kitchen a good investment that can be part of your home for many years to come. The Design Process
